Y’all. It’s September. That means football is back! Go Dawgs! Are you a football fan? Who do you cheer for? I’d love to find out if I have friends or foes reading ;).
Writing Update 1
I returned from the ACFW Conference yesterday, and I’m very glad I was able to attend. I met Robin Jones Gunn. Honestly, meeting her was the main reason I went, and God did not disappoint. The first time I saw her, I might’ve freaked out in front of Lynette Eason (Who is an incredible author as well…) That’s not quite right–I was a mess and couldn’t carry on a conversation for the next few minutes! Lynette was very kind and overlooked my momentary lack of words – HA! Thankfully, it didn’t work out for me to meet Robin at that point because I don’t think I would’ve been able to form words.
I did get to speak with her later and was able to form a few complete sentences and tell her how much her stories have impacted my life. She was just as lovely as I expected her to be! One speaker said she “brings the fragrance of God everywhere she goes,” and I could not agree more!

Writing Update 2
I was able to meet with 2 seperate publishers. One is not taking YA right now and one doesn’t even print YA. Frustration was a common theme at the conference regarding the state of Young Adult books in the Christian Publishing Industry. They just aren’t taking on new authors, nor are they printing anything. While it could have seemed hopeless, I did walk away with action steps, which I’ll discuss below in the “Faith” section.
Professional Update
Life is rolling on and I don’t have a lot to update here! I’m making some changest to my website and adding the ability to sell things. YAY. Hopefully, this will add some residual income in my life and give me a little extra to invest in this new business idea I’m still working on!
